Welcome to the 46th Air Refueling Squadron Association web site!

The objective of the Association is to maintain the history and memories of the 46th Air Refueling Squadron. Former members of the 923rd ARS, the 46th ARS, or the 307th ARS are invited to contact the Association and attend our periodic reunions.

Here's a new project -- There must be a lot of stories of happenings in the 46th/307th that should be shared and preserved.  Write down yours and e-mail them to the Association website -- 46thars@sbcglobal.net.  You can change the names to protect the innocent or the guilty as the case may be. Send them in and we will get them on the website, in the newsletter or if enough come in we will make a booklet for the September 2010 reunion.

Former Wing Commander

John R. Hinton Jr.

RIVERSIDE MAJOR GENERAL JOHN R. HINTON, JR. (USAF, ret.) Age 90, resident of Riverside, California for 34 years, passed away 01/05/2010 at Riverside Community Hospital, due to a longterm illness. John was born in Crawfordsville, Arkansas. He served 32 years in the Air Force, earning the rank of Major General, where he received the Distinguished Flying Cross. He earned his B.S. at the University of Maryland and was a member of the Elks. John is survived by his wife, Myra Hinton; daughter, Nicla Jack (Scott) of North Shore, CA; son, Jay Thompson (Cheryl) of Foothill Ranch, CA; 5 grandchildren and 1 great-grandchild. Funeral Services at The Grove Community Church, 19900 Grove Community Dr., Riverside, CA, 92508 on Friday, 01/15/10 at 11am and burial with full military honors at Riverside National Cemetery at 12:45pm, Assembly Area #9.
